How is it already August??? I swear it was just March a few weeks ago!
Anyway, August is a super busy time for me. This means I have less free time outside of my job, so I have to really prioritize certain activities. Working out has sort of always been towards the back burner on that list, where some weeks it’s the first thing I do when I get home, and then some I don’t even bother with it.
However, I really want to step it up and make it a priority because I feel better when I workout and it’s part of living a more healthier lifestyle.
Since August is a hectic month for me and my body is having to adjust back to being up at 5:30 am Monday – Friday, I need a workout plan that isn’t super intense.
Also for years, I’ve been practicing yoga, here and there, but I’ve always wanted to become more of a “Yogi” and develop a daily practice.
And gain some self-confidence to eventually go to a real life class.
So, for the next month, I’m going to be doing yoga every day. Plus, adding in walking whenever the weather is permitting.
Which Yoga Program to do?
Now, I had to look into different yoga options. I thought about just going to youtube and picking random yoga videos or looking up different ones on Pinterest, but I knew it would be a bit more time consuming having to look around.
I also considered doing the 3 Week Yoga Retreat on Beachbody On Demand because I pay for the streaming subscription. However, I wasn’t really connecting with the instructors.
All of this leads me to choose one of Yoga With Adriene’s 30 Day Yoga Journey. Not only are all the days planned out, but I’ve been a fan of Adriene’s for awhile.
True is the journey I will be following for the next 30 days. It’s the newest 30 Day Challenge (Jan 2018) and the timestamps fit my schedule.
Fitness Goals for August:
- Yoga Everyday
- Walk at least 15 Minutes or 1 Mile (At least 3-4x a week)
- Get in between 8,000-10,00 steps during the week
If you would like to join me on this yoga journey or are interested in learning more about yoga, I highly, highly suggest checking out Yoga with Adriene’s videos!
